Koa Foundations Web App Cookies Policy

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small data files that are placed on your computer or mobile device when you visit a website or use an App. Cookies are widely used by online service providers in order (for example) for services to work and/or function, or to work more efficiently, as well as to provide reporting information.

Cookies set by the Data Controller are called "first party cookies". Cookies set by parties other than the Data Controller are called "third party cookies". Third party cookies enable third party features or functionality to be provided through the Web you are browsing (such as interactive content and analytics). The third parties that set these third party cookies can recognize your device both when it visits the service in question and also when it visits certain other websites or services.

2. Why do we use cookies and other tracking technologies?

The third party cookies or similar tracking technologies we work with help us to track and target the activity of our users. For example, we use cookies for analytics, configuration, and other purposes. Every cookie we use is described in more detail below.

3. Which cookies do we use?

Mixpanel: We use the Mixpanel analytics service from Mixpanel to record how users interact with the Web App. Events are recorded such as the initial, or frequent visits of the website. The purpose is to understand how our Web App is performing so we can enhance the service.

You can view the Mixpanel privacy statement here: https://mixpanel.com/legal/privacy-policy/

4. How can I deactivate cookies?

In addition to the mechanisms provided above, you can disable cookies through the Cookie Preferences Panel of the Web App. You can access this section in the cookies banner that will appear at the bottom of the Web App once you access it for the first time. The cookies preferences will be divided in the following sections:

  • Essential cookies: These cookies are necessary for the Web App to function and cannot be switched off in our systems. They’re usually only set in response to actions made by you which amount to a request for services, such as setting your privacy preferences, logging in or filling in forms.
  • Analytics cookies: We use Google Analytics cookies to collect information about how visitors use our Web App.

You will be able to disable the last section (Analytics cookies). To know more about them you should click the drop down next to each title, and it will provide you with the full explanation of what they do. To disable them you should move the slider from on to off, this way we will not activate any pixel related to these specific cookies.

You can also withdraw consent for the usage of cookies in the setting section of the Web App, or by following the instructions of our Privacy Policy.
